Spina bifida in unborn babies is a birth abnormality which results in a deformed or malformed backbone. The Latin originated words “spina bifida” means “split” or “cracked” spine”. It is even called neural tube effect and can be easily detected by the ultrasound baby scan clinic’s technicians via an ultrasound scan.
