Causes Of Back Pain After C-Section And Remedies For It

C-Section is normally done if you have any complication in your pregnant or if you are not a first-time mother and you had a C-Section during your first pregnancy. But normally these complications can be detected once you go to a  baby scan clinic and you would know beforehand whether you are going to have a natural birth or C-Section.
Before the operation is performed the mother is given anesthesia in her spine using injection. Due to this injection, the area surrounding the spine begins to hurt after the anesthesia wears off. All the muscles, ligaments, and nerves in the back start to hurt. This pain sometimes reduces while lying down. Normally this back pain fades away after a couple of days but in some cases, it tends to stay for more than weeks. This usually happens if an injury is caused in the nerves of the spinal region due to the injection. Sometimes if the pain becomes too much, doctors carry out a blood patch. It means some blood is taken from your own body and re injected in the spinal area. That brings relief almost instantly. But it usually happens in extreme cases. Other times there are some home remedies that you can perform on your own if the pain in your back persists.

A Hot Bath

On top of that, if you add bath salts and dissolve them, that will work wonders too. Just sit in the bath as long as the water is hot, and it will bring great relief to your back pain and the soreness in the muscles will go away

Sleeping the Right Way

Sleeping in the right position is very important if you have back pains. Also, you should give your back as much as support it needs. Try to avoid sleeping on a soft mattress, but it should also not be too much hard. You can also try and find out the most comfortable position that will relieve your back pain the most.

Hot and Cold

Some doctors suggest that alternating cold and hot presses on your back can also relax the muscles. Use a heating pad and an ice pack and apply it on your back. You can also apply a pain-relieving balm after the hot and cold presses.

Simple Exercises

Sometimes the pain might get aggravated due to the physical changes occurring before and after delivery. Exercises can help work these muscles and blood circulation will relieve the pain. Yoga and pilates are a good way to start your exercise routines. Try to avoid doing too much heavy exercise as that can aggravate the pain.

If too much pain persists consult your doctor before it’s too late. The best way is to try and avoid any complications during pregnancy by keeping yourself healthy and going to the 4D baby scan clinic for every routine checkup.
